BECOME A PHANTOM! |
|
|
 |
|
The Phantoms are actively recruiting players for this season and
for the future. To be eligible to play, you must be a
student on a relevant classification at either ARU campus, or
any other university within our catchment area. If you are
unsure about your eligibility, contact any of the addresses
below and we can guide you towards becoming a Phantom or joining
the league some other way.
We welcome players of any experience, size or knowledge of the
game and we are committed to introducing people to the sport in
this country. We believe that college level football
provides the highest turnover potential of new players to the
game, and acts as a good introductory system for players who may
wish to carry on to a higher level.
We are able to hire
out the majority of equipment that a player might need for a
small cost*, including helmets, shoulder pads and leg
protection. You can also pay a deposit for a game
jersey, or purchase your own, which comes with the added
bonus of having your own name and number on the shirt (which
many teams do not offer) so you can wear it around the
university with pride!
If you want to join
the team, or you have any questions, contact us on the addresses

Phantoms
seek Defensive coach in Cambridge Area |
|
The Anglia Ruskin
Phantoms have just completed their 5th season of
competition in British University level football, and are
currently looking to expand their coaching staff with the
addition of a defensive positional coach in or local to
Cambridge for the 2008/09 BUAFL season.
At the Anglia
Ruskin University, we have the unique position of fielding a
team that represents two separate campuses under the same
university name (Chelmsford and Cambridge). Each campus has
an equal distribution of players, offering coaches the chance
to work with experienced players from the BUAFL, BAFL and BAFL
Youth leagues, and from leagues in Europe and the U.S, as well
as the equally rewarding job of developing new players for the
future of British Football.
Candidates with coaching experience and a
level 1 BAFCA qualification would be preferable, but we will
also consider experienced players looking to develop as
coaches, and willing to become qualified at the earliest
convenience. The ideal candidate should be enthusiastic and
be willing to contribute ideas, but crucially should be
willing to do so within an established coaching staff.
Coaches should be willing and able to
attend 1 to 2 training sessions per weekend, and a mid-week
evening session (coaching schedule for the upcoming season is
to be confirmed). Coaches would also be expected to cover
registration and qualification fees.
Coaches who are
looking to apply, or would like more information should
contact Phantoms Head Coach Andrew Laing at:
